CLM Advisors Announces New Claims-Legal Intensive for Law Firms

Deerfield, Ill. — CLM Advisors announced today the launch of a new Claims-Legal Intensive for law firms that want to better communicate their value to insurance company clients.

“We developed this Program in response to numerous law firm inquiries about how they could be more successful in such a competitive environment,” said Taylor Smith, President of CLM Advisors. “One of the more startling findings of our 2015 National Litigation Management Study was the fact that claim executives ranked law firms’ ability to describe their value effectively, as  2.7 on a scale of 10. We want to change that. We know that a strong value proposition relies on a deep understanding of customer needs and challenges. That is what this course delivers.”

After participating in this Intensive, attorneys will be able to demonstrate to current and prospective customers that they possess a deep understanding of the needs and challenges of claim organizations. They will be able to converse more effectively with claim executives and front-line claims professionals on claims-related issues, and most importantly, they will be able to describe their Firm’s value in ways that resonate more powerfully with prospective and current customers.

The Intensive is a five-hour workshop designed for any attorneys with insurance company customers, and is delivered onsite at the firm. Attendance is limited to 18 participants and requires approximately two hours of pre-reading.  The course’s eight modules explore the claims ecosystem, including roles, personas, claims management strategies, metrics, and performance objectives. Through additional exercises and role-playing, participants will construct value propositions that resonate with insurance claim executives.

The instructor for this Intensive is CLM Advisor Dean Harring, formerly Chief Claims Officer at QBE the Americas, GAB Robins, CNA, Zurich, and Providence Washington. Dean brings a wealth of knowledge to the course, having observed thousands of law firms and other claims support providers present their credentials and capabilities.

Firms with questions about this CLM Advisors’ Intensive should contact Taylor Smith, President, CLM Advisors, at taylor.smith@theclm.org for more information.

CLM Advisors Announces Launch of New Best Practices Study

Deerfield, Ill. — CLM Advisors launched today a new Industry Study – Best Practices in Records Retrieval. The Study will survey senior claim and litigation executives in the property casualty insurance claims industry on current and developing best practices in records retrieval.

The retrieval of documents and records is a critical core activity for all claim organizations. Accurate, timely and efficient retrieval of those records is crucial to establishing liability, causation and damages. Yet, claim organizations differ in how they approach this critical task.

This study will examine current best practices, as well as senior executives’ perceptions about what is most important in the retrieval process (i.e., cost, speed, accuracy, records organization, and other key attributes).

The Study’s survey instrument takes approximately 12 minutes to complete, and all answers and opinions provided are completely confidential.  Executives who participate in the survey will receive a Participants’ Report, which will enable them to see how their industry colleagues feel about the questions raised about this important topic.

Senior litigation and claim officers who wish to participate in this quick Survey should contact Taylor Smith, President, CLM Advisors, at taylor.smith@theclm.org for more information.
